Only red coffee cherries🍒 ! FUN FACT: It is THE most important factor that impacts the quality ☕️. One of the challenges of working with a large network of small share farmers in a vast and remote region, aside from logistics, is helping them learn and understand the value of select harvesting. We made a big commitment this year to partnering with three full time team members in the Rwenzori Mountains 🇺🇬 so that we can be closer to them and assist in educating and supporting the farmer with this knowledge. Fully ripened, red coffee cherries, ensure the coffee seeds (we call them “beans” 😃) are fully developed and ready to be harvested, processed, and dried. The farmer wins when they select harvest and abstain from the temptation of stripping the whole vine. They will receive a higher total yield, in turn producing a higher grade cherry/seed, and most importantly for them, a premium price as compensation! Love Coffee.
